First CartoDB map
First time using CartoDB. Pretty cool that you can just embed the map anywhere and it renders in an iframe.
This is a map of the Polsby-Popper metric for US Congressional districts. In essence, people use it to identify how “normal” a political district’s shape is, with larger values being more “regular.” It’s the same as used in a washington post piece. My methodology differs a bit from their published map, and I’d love to figure out how to get the neat little hover info on the WaPo map.
But, with this down, I don’t know why I would use this over folium, since I know how to make the maps myself…
